Our Values

We are a Great Commission Southern Baptist Church who deeply values:

God's Kingdom

God's Word

God's Love

God's Love

The Cross reveals God's self-emptying, self-giving love (Rom 5:8; Phil 2:6-8; 1 Jn 3:16).  Christ loved us and gave up his life for us while we were yet sinners!  This means that God laid down his life for his enemies! Therefore, as followers of Christ, our goal and desire is to be shaped by the Cross.  Certainly this will entail humble service and sacrificial love for all, even our enemies.  And yet it will also include losing our life for the sake of Jesus and his gospel (Mk 8:34-38).

God's Word

The Holy Bible is the inspired and inerrant Word of God.  As such, Scripture is our supreme authority, without error, fully trustworthy, and able to make us wise for salvation through faith in Christ (2 Tim 3:14-17).  Therefore, we seek to be loyal to God's Word in our teaching and life application.

God's Kingdom

God has come in the person of Jesus Christ to inaugurate his saving reign/kingdom.  The Church is a manifestation of God's power and love for a guilty world. Therefore, our goal and desire is to "go into the world" in the power of the Spirit and make known God's Kingdom by our words and deeds.  That is to say, our goal at FLBC is to proclaim the gospel, make disciples, and perform deeds of loving mercy with the enablement that comes through the Spirit's power              (Mt 28:18-20; Gal 6:10).
